Comment: I would and have returned to Jafri rugs since I discovered the business. Mr Jafri and his son Hamza were very helpful when we needed rugs cleaned and repaired. We even bought a small rug as a wedding gift for our granddaughter.

We just purchased several rugs from Jafri. Fantastic experience with the owners - Father and Son team! Excellent products and superior customer service. I can highly recommend doing business with these good folks!

What a fun way to buy a rug. Mr. Jafri has an encyclopedic hold on his inventory and seems genuinely pleased to match you with your ideal rug. The whole process, from initial browsing to delivery, was great. I will be back.

Working with Humza and his father was an absolute pleasure. We were purchasing three rugs for our home. They brought our possible choices to the home so we could be sure of our selections. Our top choices changed due to this home visit. We LOVE our rugs and will definitely go back to Jafri Rugs for future needs!

Jafri Oriental Rugs has helped me to make my house a home with their beautiful, high-quality rugs! They have the largest selection to choose from, are extremely knowledgeable on their products, and their friendly and attentive customer service has made me a repeat customer! They assisted me with design compatibility and allowed me to view rugs in my own home to make sure the selection was perfect. They were patient and a delight to work with, I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality oriental rug!

True - that they have absolutely beautiful rugs and an amazing assortment and inventory, but Mr Jafri (the younger) and Mr Jafri (the older) and their crew make this establishment truly unique.

They are welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. We especially appreciated the absence of hard-sell pressure sales tactics that are found elsewhere.

Highly recommended

My grandfather purchased an hand knotted oriental rug in the late 19 th or very early 20 th century . After more than a hundred years of use in our family the rug had become thread bare , the edges were tattered. , the colors had faded , and it had several small tears. In addition a small piece of the edge of the rug had been torn away and lost . Because of the rug’s intrinsic and sentimental value spanning four generations , we decided to invest in repairing and restoring it . After contacting multiple dealers we were so fortunate to connect with Humza at Jafri Rugs . After over four months of work Humza and the Jafri team were able to restore the rug to its original beauty . We were thrilled with the quality of their work . Humza’s responsiveness to our questions and concerns , and his warm and accommodating demeanor made the entire process a pleasure . I highly recommend Jafri rugs for repair and restoration of antique rugs .

Jafri was a lifesaver repairing an older expensive rug that was part of a set when it was pulled & damaged by cat nails. They picked up the rug the following day & repairs took a bit over two weeks. I was delighted that the end charges came in lower than the initial estimate per the emailed photos of the damaged rug. I appreciate their honest business practices & they also included a rug pad free of charge. I will utilize their services again without reservation & highly recommend them to anyone looking to restore their irreplaceable rugs!

Hamsa was a pleasure to work with through all stages of getting two antique rugs inherited cleaned & repaired. He answered all of my numerous questions and seemed to genuinely enjoy imparting his seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of the many different subtypes of rug styles and their respective histories. It was far more expensive than I was originally expecting, but these guys are worth every penny. They are legitimate specialists in restoring high quality rugs and I can't recommend Jafri Rugs strongly enough.

The difficulty of purchasing a high quality hand-knotted oriental rug was made easy, quick and very pleasant by the Messrs Jafri and their employees. They reminded me of the criteria for evaluating the quality of this level of rug and were tireless in helping me to select just the right one. It was delivered quickly by very competent staff and it is beautiful in my room....now, all I need is my new furniture. I couldn't recommend them more.

We recently moved to the area and wanted a statement rug for our dining room. We found Jafri on the internet and decided to make the 75 minute trip. We called first and Humza was welcoming from the very start. He showed us a number of rugs from their large collection, after listening to our comments and looking at photos of the room. We narrowed it down to four rugs. We drive back home and be sent his crew with the four rugs in a van. They laid them out and we picked the one we wanted while Humza advised us over face time. 4 hours after leaving home we were the proud owners of a gorgeous Kazak. We’re thrilled. We also showed Humza a Chinese rug I inherited and he was as able to evaluate it on the video call and recommended repairs. We sent it back to Albany with the crew. All in all a terrific experience. We highly recommend Humza and Jafri rugs!

Excellent Service

I just love working with high quality caring business owners like Humza, his Dad, and their crew. I had a wonderful experience purchasing a couple of rugs, one at the store, and one special ordered. I wish all businesses showed their level of care and integrity. And just being around all those beautiful rugs is sheer joy!

The team at Jafri rugs was amazing. Humza, Mr. Jafri and the showroom staff were extremely knowledgeable and patient! We highly recommend Jafri Rugs….their inventory is amazing.

Humza Jafri was amazing to work with. It was quick, easy and the quality of the hand knotted wool rug was amazing, while the pricing was on target for a piece like this. They shipped it to my home in Miami and it was perfect. Had it in 3 days. Couldn’t give a higher recommendation!

Outstanding customer service and personal care. I had Jafri pick up six Oriental Carpets from my home to have them cleaned and repaired. Mr. Jafri kept me updated throughout the entire process. I am so pleased with the service I received from Jafri Oriental Rugs. I felt my business was valued and important to them and it was done in a timely and efficient manner. You will not be disappointed doing business with Jafri Oriental Rugs! Thank you so much!

From the pick up to the delivery, the people couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. My 9x12 Ardabil was in desperate need of cleaning, and came back looking bright and beautiful. I couldn’t be happier.

Highly recommended. Knowledgeable and professional. They have a very large selection of Oriental and modern abstract rugs. No high pressure sales. Allows home trial. Also had a positive experience with cleaning and repairs of our rugs.

If you own Oriental rugs or any other high quality hand knotted rug you must take advantage of the amazing service Jafri provides. I have many oriental rugs. Several of them needed cleaning and repairs. Jafri picked up my rugs gave me a reasonable estimate for cleaning and repair. They completed the work in a reasonable period of time and returned my rugs. The results were amazing!! All of my rugs look as good if not better than the day I bought them. The quality of the repairs couldn’t be better! It’s impossible to even detect a repair has been made, they are made in the tradition of the rug. I feel fortunate to have found Jafri and to work with them. I plan to use them on a regular basis to maintain my rugs. They also have an amazing collection of rare rugs in their show room. I purchased a couple more!!

5 stars for excellent friendly service during free pickup and delivery of our large Karastan rug. 5 stars for cleaning and repair. The 100 year old rug looks brand new. 5 stars for customer service from the owners. Great company!

The rug cleaning and repair work Jafri foes on hand knotted rugs is amazing. They have repaired and cleaned several of my rugs and I was astonished by the results. My rugs look like new again. The repairs are carefully done to the tradition of the rug so they are indistinguishable. I was just amazed. They are fantastic to work with, I plan to use them to maintain all my rugs.

This is the spot! Wonderful inventory and exemplary service. Humza and his father were beyond knowledgeable and very patient with the process. Lifelong customers!

Turab and Humza are the best. Their family business is a jewel in the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley. They have by far the best inventory and quality of rugs to be found in upstate New York. More importantly is the connection they make with their customers and the ongoing service they provide to them. I am a VERY happy customer.

Cleaned, rebound and rewove a section of our family heirloom Persian rug that had been damaged. Rug looks brand new. Worth the investment!

I had an excellent experience with Jafri Oriental Rugs— I had 2 8x10 rugs cleaned and delivered 1 1/2hr away. The rugs came back beautifully clean, and the delivery men put them in place (one upstairs). They were in and out job well done in about one minute.
I would definitely use them again, and I highly recommend their service!

Comment: Tim did a great job.

This is by far the best rug store/cleaner in the area. All of their rugs are one of a kind and all imported from the Middle East and Pakistan. Some of the nicest people I have ever met work their as well!

Humza was beyond helpful to us when went into today looking for a new rug for the dining room. He asked really thoughtful questions to truly understand the colors, patterns, and designs we wanted. The whole team was very patient and flipped through dozens and dozens of options happily.
We learned a lot about the quality of their selection - everything they sell is hand woven. Humza also explained the historical significance of many of the colors and pattern choices.
Overall, a great experience with a family business! We found a great piece!

I brought two smaller rugs for cleaning. The owner talks me into getting the smaller one fixed..the fray was gone and bottom starting to go. The explanation of why to do it and how precious my rug was, was very passionate. Places like these always put me off because when you know nothing of the subject, you have to put total trust in them. They are my late husband's family rugs. He knew about rugs. It's only been three years since he is gone so it was also emotional for me. I felt vulnerable and did not want to be taken advantage of. As soon as I walked in I got a good vibe of the place and the owner was friendly, warm and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease and trusting. They came back looking great and the work they did on the old one, over 100 years old, was amazing. Brought it back to life but it looks natural, not like it was "fixed." I highly recommend them and will use them in the future.

I had moth damage to several rugs and was very negligent in addressing the situation, but Jafri was able to clean and repair them and they are again the beautiful rugs that I had initially purchased. Jafri Oriental Rugs is where to go if you have good rugs in need of cleaning and repair. And their beautiful inventory is vast and varied If you are looking to buy.

My niece and I recently dropped off two rugs that had been damaged by wasps. Turab, the owner, had both repaired. The results were outstanding. You would never know there had been damage! I had purchased my rug at a garage sale for $95; it is a beautiful flowered rug with a white background. I was reluctant to pay for a repair and opted to have the rug cut down to a smaller size (the wasp damage was on the edge). The first rug's repair had been completed some time before, so I knew whatever Turab did with my rug, it would be good, but when we went to pick it up yesterday, we were shocked and surprised. Turab had not cut the rug down -- he had repaired it! He was able to do it for only a small amount more than the cutting of the rug would have cost and he knew we would prefer a repair if the cost was not as high as we had been told it would be. He took a chance because he knew my niece, had worked with her on her rugs and knew her preferences. We we so amazed and delighted that Turab had done this!!! I never thought I'd see the beautiful rug I had purchased at a "bargain" price - I think a once in a lifetime event!!!! - whole again!!!! And it is! In all its glory, thanks to Turab. If you don't visit Jafri Oriental Rugs and Gallery when you are looking for a gorgeous rug or for service that is above and beyond, you will be missing out on great inventory, great service, and a man who will be a total pleasure to work with and to know!!!! Thank you a thousand time, Turab!!!!!

Comment: Fantastic service!!

I bless the day I found Mr Jafri. As one who has collected rugs for 50 years, I both learned about their value and origins and had them beautifully cleaned and repaired.

Very beautiful rugs there, would have been a difficult decision. Only needed a rug pad this time. When we're in the market again, this is where we'll go. Pete, Delmar, NY

I like oriental carpets. One can buy very good machine-made rugs in the ancient patterns (they come from Turkey) but the Real Thing is the kind of thing your grandchildren can inherit and enjoy (I have a couple that were my great-grandparents'). Jafri imports rugs -- I gather, mostly from Pakistan; that's a crossroads area connecting ancient Persia to Mughal India. The selection at various price-points is excellent; the staff is knowledgeable. Short of a visit to town (ABC or Safavieh) there really is no competition. I've bought rugs at all three (and ended tossing out two rugs from ABC, one of which was loaded with moths...); I prefer Jafri across the board.

Mr Jafri is a pleasure to do business with. His workers have cleaned and repaired several of my rugs. The quality of work was excellent, and it was completely in a timely manner.

Tremendous selection of gorgeous rugs. All sizes, so helpful and knowledgeable.
Great to try in home and work to coordinate with other furniture. Turab is great to deal with.

I am so pleased with the cleaning I had done. A rug that has been passed down in my family for years now, that has endured every stain possible, sat in basements and attics for years on end, is now pristine. I've fallen in love with it all over again just as I did when I was a little girl and it was in my Nanas house. I can't thank you enough. So professional and flexible with my schedule for pick and and delivery. I'm really so happy. The delivery guys are the absolute best too. Thank you again-

very attentive service. went for an appraisal and received an indication of the rug's value shortly after I walked in. left the rug for repair and cleaning. will update when I get the rug back. I am very pleased so far. also enjoyed being in a store where everything I saw was beautiful. a rare experience.

They did a great job cleaning my small cotton Turkish rug. It looks like new. My only complaint is that it took about 6 weeks when they originally said "at least 2," with mutterings about Hurricane Sandy. However, they did give me a loaner rug, so I'm very happy with them.
