This is a classic Chinese Art Deco rug that was completely destroyed in the field and fringe and binding

The rug was moth damaged and required enormous reweaving work

The rug also required a thorough cleaning which was done through the antique wash where the fibers are soaked in a tub of cold water and solution, then the rug is dried and dusted, and olive oil shampoo is applied to the rug

The post restoration work came out beautifully and although it took time the preservation work of this quality is worth it.

The rug was matched with the Chinese wool that was used in the circa 1900 period.
