This rug is a classic Persian Heriz design that was completely moth damaged and filled with holes throughout the rug. The rug required the following areas to be preserved:

-Field was rewoven and sheared so as to even out the pile due to poor coloration of the rug, and this is typically done when a rug has lost its original design, additionally, when vacuuming a rug the wool yarns can pull, so this is done to chop the higher threads.

-The overall definition of the rug was lost requiring weavers to do color restoration on the rug, a process where the stains are extracted from the rug
