This is an example of a classic Anatolian rug. The rug
is densely knotted but the fringe and binding was completely worn and
unraveling. The field of the rug was in amazing condition and therefore
required no work such as reweaving...however given the fringe and binding act
like a frame of the rug if they continued to unravel further they would eat
into the field of the rug causing it to become prohibitively expensive to fix.

The rug has a classic hexagonal motif characteristic of the Anatolian (Turkish Rugs) of that era.
