This is a classic hand knotted rug from circa 1900 China. The French blue of the rug is due to the enormous influence of the French on the Chinese culture. The rug is a Ming Dynasty medium pile rug. The rug itself when brought to the showroom required enormous restoration work. Given its antiquity and overall quality the rug is a valuable rug worthy of belonging in a museum. This is a textbook rug and has a classic Ming dynasty design with the medallions.

Jafri Rugs inspection work looked at the following:
-Fringe was fraying
-Binding was unraveling
-Moth damage was showing all throughout the rug
-Worn areas throughout the rug
-Warp and weft was coming through the pile of the rug
